Apple³ is an installation that reinterprets the symbolism of an apple through three layers: visual, sonic, and vital. An apple placed on a rotating platform and is scanned in real time using a lateral laser grid which captures its shape and surface characteristics. The collected data is analyzed and transformed into elements such as pitch, timbre, and rhythm, which are then played through speakers. Multiple apples are arranged in the exhibition space, allowing visitors to freely exchange them and experience the changing sounds unique to each fruit.

In Eden, it was sin. In myth, desire. In the North, eternity. In fairy tales, poison. In festivals, prayer. A single fruit carries countless stories within it. A camera reads the apple’s tiny spots as “points,” expanding them into lines and surfaces to extract the rhythm of its form. This data is then converted into pitch, rhythm, and timbre, allowing the apple to become an entity that emits sound. Weighing about 250 grams—nearly the same as a human heart—the apple shares its resonance with the body. When the two hold the same weight, their vibrations merge into one rhythm. Humans have cultivated apples, and apples, in turn, have cultivated humanity.
