Have you ever felt that a plush toy holds memories? The fur, worn smooth from countless gentle strokes. The texture, molded through years of touch. The joints, softened over time. All of these are remnants of moments once shared with someone. These memories awaken when you touch the plush— what we call “plush memories.” This work seeks to give shape to that invisible presence, expressing it both visually and physically.
In this work, when visitors touch the plush bear, memories of its past interactions with people emerge as projections on the wall. As they experience this, visitors are invited to reflect on the time the plush has spent with others, or to overlay their own past memories onto it. Moreover, the very moment they touch it with their own hands becomes inscribed in the plush’s body as a new memory.
